Suzanne Berryhill
Suzie Berryhill, RYT-200 and RYT-500, began her yoga journey as a college student looking for an alternate PE credit. 20 years later, her practice is still going strong! Suzie took her RYT 200 training in 2019 at the Asheville Yoga Center. In 2023, she decided to continue her yoga education with a 300 hour yoga teacher training from Breathe for Change, a program that focuses on teaching yoga in K-12 schools. Suzie uses her experience to lead mindfulness clubs in her high school "day job". An RYT-500, Suzie believes yoga should be accessible to all people, and that the benefits of yoga extend beyond the mat. She loves incorporating this philosophy into all of her classes. All people can practice yoga.
She will be teaching: Once Upon a Mat: Yoga and Storytelling for Families
Step into a world where movement meets imagination and every story begins with hope! Join Suzie Berryhill for a joyful, playful class designed to spark connection, courage, and creativity for the whole family. In Once Upon a Mat, yoga poses and music weave seamlessly into a heartwarming story. As we move, stretch, and breathe together, you’ll follow clues in the poses and playlist—can you guess the story before it’s revealed? Stories have always helped us find light in challenging times, and in this class, they gently nurture resilience, confidence, and a hopeful spirit in children and grown-ups alike. Perfect for yogis ages 4 and up, each class begins with gentle, imaginative movement, settles into cozy storytime, and closes with calming stretches and a peaceful savasana (nap time, anyone?). Bring your littlest yogis to listen to the story, they are welcome to wander as we move through class. Playlists may include upbeat pop and rock songs that match the theme of the day’s tale. Come ready to move, listen, laugh, and leave feeling inspired—because every great story (and every great adventure) begins with hope."
